Learn to rest on purpose.

Yin, breath, and stillness with me, Megan Wade, an ICU nurse who has spent almost fifteen years witnessing how the body holds stress, and how it can learn to let go.

Nervous system regulation “Permission to do less” Registered Nurse Almost 15 years in critical care

A different kind of teacher

You can't always think your way out of stress. Sometimes the body needs a different kind of conversation.

I bring nearly fifteen years of experience as an ICU nurse together with years of yoga, breathwork, workshops, and teacher trainings. I've witnessed firsthand how the body responds to stress, overwhelm, and uncertainty, and I've also learned how breath, movement, and stillness can create space for the body to soften, settle, and restore.

About

Hi, I'm Megan.

Hello to all of you beautiful humans.

I have been a Registered Nurse for almost 15 years. I started my career in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, and I am STILL there today.

There was a period of time when I didn’t think I would be able to continue holding my nervous system in the constant fight-or-flight state that came with working in the ICU. Then, yoga happened.

I completed my yoga teacher training in 2018, and I have never looked back. Since then I have completed many trainings, with a focus on nervous system regulation through breath and movement. The practices that feel the most like home to me are teaching Yin, facilitating breathwork, and guiding meditation.

I quickly realized how beautiful the dance is between RN Megan and Instructor Megan. I bring my background in the ICU to my teaching, and I bring my background in teaching to my patients in the ICU.

I teach at a few studios around Edmonton, Alberta, but I also deeply love teaching private sessions where I can customize the experience to your own unique needs.

My biggest “flex” (is that what the kids say?) is that I always encourage my students to move toward or away from sensations as they feel necessary. We have all been to a yoga class where we walk away feeling confused or thinking, “What just happened?!” because the intention was not to pause, listen to your body, and connect inward, the intention was simply to do exactly as you were told.

Also, a little fun fact: I have done stand-up comedy once. So while my classes are rooted in mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and creating space for stillness, you can also expect a few laughs along the way… even if I am the only one laughing. (It happens more often than I’d like to admit.)

I always say, “Give yourself permission to do less.”

I truly try to embody that, especially in a world that is always, ALWAYS asking for more.

So here I am, just a girl, standing in front of a boy... wait, no (phenomenal movie though!)... asking you to join me, and start to reconnect with yourself.

Let’s move together and, along the way, find a few more tools to slow down and reconnect with the deepest, most still parts of yourself.

The parts that may have been quiet for far too long.

How we practice

My approach is simple: giving yourself permission and space to listen to your body.

Your body is always communicating with you. We just have to slow down enough to check in and listen.

Through breath, slow movement, and stillness, we create space to listen, reconnect, and come back to ourselves. Yin, breathwork, and meditation offer different ways in, meeting you where you are and inviting more ease and presence.

Kind words

When you go to one of Megan's yoga classes, be prepared to look within and honour yourself. I don't consider these classes, but experiences. A chance to reconnect with the heart, body and soul. Megan's gentle leadership guides you through breathwork and poses with a focus on doing what serves you best. Always.

I've attended Megan's yoga sessions a few times now and I can honestly say it has become one of the most therapeutic parts of my self care routine. Her classes create such a safe and grounding space, especially for someone like me who tends to live in their head. It has been a beautiful way to reconnect with my body. Megan has such a calming presence and her yin classes are not only relaxing but deeply healing.

“You have a real talent for walking people through 90 minutes of Yin. Everyone that arrived seemed so excited and so relaxed when they left. It was awesome.”

“Her soothing voice, calm presence, and depth of knowledge create an incredible grounding atmosphere. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a calming and inviting yoga experience.”

“I love how your sequence is just so carefully thought out and creative. It’s refreshingly different from how anyone else sequences or cues. I’ve practiced for a long time and found it challenging. My friend is a beginner and he loved it too. You have an amazing ability to teach to all levels.”
